The AsepticMD kit is totally different from any other acne treatment on the market. It works and it works fast. If you or anyone you care about has acne, this is what you should be using. Most users see their acne start to clear up in the first week and notice a major improvement within two weeks. In fact, when we showed dermatologists the results, most said that it works faster and better than any other acne treatment available, even prescription treatments.

And unlike most other over-the-counter and prescription treatments for acne, it does not dry your skin out or cause redness, peeling, or tightness.

To understand what makes the AsepticMD kit different from other acne treatments and how it can work so well, you have to know what causes acne.

What Causes Acne

Acne starts when the pores get blocked with plugs of keratin.  Keratin is what the surface of your skin is made of and it normally sheds off the surface of your skin in tiny amounts that you can’t see.  Nobody knows exactly why it happens, but in acne the keratin starts to form plugs that block the pores and no amount of washing with normal soap can stop it.

After the keratin blocks the pores, the normal oil that is produced in your pores starts to build up behind the plug.  If this is all that happens, then a type of acne lesion called a comedone forms.  These are tiny little (about 1/10th of an inch) skin colored bumps.

However, if the bacteria that causes acne, call Propionobacterium Acnes (or P acnes  for short) starts to grow in the oil that is trapped in the pore, it triggers inflammation.  Inflammation causes redness, swelling, and attracts pus – with the result being a white head if the P acnes is near the surface and an acne nodule or cyst if the P acnes is deep in the pore.  P acnes is very hard to eliminate because deep inside the pores it makes a sticky substance called a biofilm that protects it from being killed.

The Usual Acne Treatments and Their Problems

How They Treat Acne Problems
Salicylic acid and retinoids (tretinoin, adapalene, tazarotene) work to unblock the pores.
  • They all work extremely slowly, taking months to open the pores.
  • Retinoids cause extreme dryness, peeling, and tightness.
Antibacterials, such as benzoyl peroxide, doxycycline, minocycline, and clindamycin, kill P acnes.
  • Bacteria develop resistance to many of these treatments over time.
  • None of these penetrate biofilms effectively.
  • Antibiotics taken internally can cause severe side effects.
  • Benzoyl peroxide is drying and irritating and bleaches clothing, towels, sheets, and pillowcases.
Isotretinoin reduces how much oil the skin produces and unblocks pores.
  • Requires frequent doctor visits and blood tests.
  • Causes severe chapped lips and dry skin.
  • Causes birth defects if women get pregnant while taking it.

How AsepticMD Is Different

Like many other acne treatments, the AsepticMD kit has the powerful acne fighting medicine salicylic acid.  This helps to unblock pores, preventing the formation of pimples.

However, what makes the AsepticMD kit different from other treatments is the rest of the formulation, which contains a unique ingredient called Dioxicare.  Dioxicare is derived from chlorine dioxide, one of the most powerful disinfectants known – even stronger than bleach at killing bacteria when tested head-to-head – and bacteria do not become resistant to it.  In addition, chlorine dioxide is also one of the only disinfectants that effectively penetrates the sticky, gooey biofilms that protect bacteria.

In addition to its effects on bacteria on the skin, Dioxicare has another benefit that is just as important – it deeply cleans the skin and unblocks the pores in a way that no other cleanser can.  It does this by breaking the connections, called disulfide bonds, that make keratin stick together.  This instantly weakens and loosens the keratin plugs that block the pores.

Finally, Dioxicare fights inflammation in the skin.  One of the main causes of inflammation are proteins called cytokines.  Chlorine dioxide inactivates these cytokines, turning off the excess inflammation in the skin.

Despite all of these powerful effects, Dioxicare is safe – it doesn’t irritate or dry out the skin.  In fact, chlorine dioxide is so safe that it is used to purify water and sanitize foods, meaning that millions of Americans eat it and drink it every day!
